What can ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ teach us about goals?

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

This made perfect sense to me, tell me if you agree…

In the book “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” by Lewis Carroll, Alice comes to a fork in the road. Having no idea which fork to take, she encounters the Cheshire Cat, who asks Alice where she wants to end up.

Alice answers that she has no idea where she’s going, to which the Cheshire Car replies, “In that case, either fork will do.”

The lesson is…when there is a goal in mind your chances of success are increased dramatically. With no goal you just sort of wonder around in no real direction!

Try one of our training programs and you will see,  It is an awesome training ground for success in life!

Thank you Team Empire you ROCKED the house

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

I wanted to thank all the students, friends and family that traveled to Vermont to support our 2 Warriors.

Team Empire was not only the loudest and biggest but most importantly the most professional. I was proud of everyone and how they represented our TEAM. I received many comments from the promoters, spectators as well as some other fighters.

This was the MMA debuts of both Bob Cable and Kevin Leonard. Kevin had an awesome training camp in preparation for his debut. While Bob stepped up on Wednesday and accepted the challenge as a last minute replacement.

Fight one was Bob Cable. Bob showed the heart of a true warrior and Mike and I were very proud to be in his corner. Bob started the fight with a few combos but was caught with a kick that knocked him down, his opponent transitioned to back control, got his hooks in and had a full Rear naked choke.

Bob escaped the choke, which was just AWESOME, Mike, myself and TEAM EMPIRE went nuts. Bob got to his feet and dropped his opponent with a sweet right cross, started to ground and pound and in that process was caught and submitted with a triangle choke. Congratulations to his opponent and I look forward to having a full training camp for Bob’s next fight.

Fight 2: Saw Kevin “SWEET DREAMS” Leonard live up to his name. He put on an impressive display of striking. Kevin worked combos, kicks and some wicked knees from clinch.

Kevin fought 3 rounds and won a unanimous decision. Each round Kevin completely dominated his opponent.

Solid fundamentals combined with the proper training camp of physical conditioning and the mental game showed. I am very proud of Kevin and also want to thank all his sparring partners for their help. We couldn’t have done it without you.

I was proud of both these Warriors and was honored of how they represented Team Empire. This event is just a small part of what Team Empire represents.

The support and camaraderie that you all show weekly in class is truly what TEAM EMPIRE is and I am honored to have you as a Team member. Thank you for your support.
